Indonesia proposes $11 billion in green projects amid regulatory issues – Sat 19 Mar 2022

The Ministry of Investment has proposed 47 projects worth more than 155 trillion rupees ($10.83 billion) which are considered environmentally friendly and located across the archipelago, while the government aims to tap into the growing global market for sustainable finance and stimulate the economy.
Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, speaking at the launch in Jakarta on Thursday, said the projects were spread across four sectors, with the largest coming from manufacturing, followed by infrastructure, economic zones and then tourism. . The first three are valued at around 50 trillion rupees each, while the last is worth 5.78 trillion rupees. He did not specify how these projects were “sustainable”.
He added that the pre-feasibility studies for the projects had already been completed and there were double the number of projects proposed compared to the 22 proposed two years ago. The Minister assured that investors only need to focus on contributing their technology and capital.
