Kelowna structure fire deemed suspect, under RCMP investigation
The Kelowna Fire Department responded to the blaze with 2 engines, command vehicle
A structural fire deemed suspicious was extinguished by the Kelowna Fire Department (KFD).
KFD Platoon Captain Steve Roshinsky said at around 8:54 a.m. on June 5, the dispatch center received several 9-1-1 calls reporting a burning building in the back of the property at 1350 Ridgeway Drive.
The first officer at the scene confirmed that flames and smoke were coming from behind the building.
KFD responded with two engines and a command vehicle, deploying a “line of attack” and then using it to quickly extinguish the fire. However, there was already significant damage to the structure.
As the fire was deemed suspicious, it is currently the subject of an RCMP investigation.
More details will be provided as they become available.
