Prince Harry and Meghan Markle criticized for their thoughts on vaccine fairness
A long time has passed since Prince harry and Meghan markle announced that they were leaving the royal family. The couple said they want their financial independence and added that they will split their time between the UK and North America respectively.
A key word in their press statement read: “After many months of internal reflection and discussion, we have chosen to transition this year by starting to carve out a new progressive role within this institution. “
“We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work towards becoming financially independent while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
The aftermath of this debacle saw the Sussex royals retreat to their personal confines and only recently came out in public.

The Sussex Speech
The Royal Family has arranged to meet at the Global Citizen Live event, amid much commotion from the crowds. They later took the stage and gave an impassioned speech to the crowd about the need for more vaccines in the world.
Currently, the vaccination process in most countries is uneven. While some can easily vaccinate their citizens, others struggle to get enough vaccines.
Markle said: “This year the world is expected to produce enough doses to meet the goal of immunizing 70% of the people in each country.”
“But it is wrong that much of the vaccine supply so far has only gone to 10 rich countries, and not everyone. This is just not OK.
Harry also had a lot to say on the subject. He pleaded for major pharmaceutical conglomerates to reveal their vaccine production process, to tackle the shortfall. Subsequently, he felt that developing countries had the means to replicate vaccines if they had the possibility.
“These countries have the means, the capacity and the workers to go into manufacturing. All they are waiting for is for the intellectual property of the vaccine to be dropped and the vaccine technology to be transferred. “
Experts disapprove of Prince Harry and Megan’s message
Several experts criticized the couple’s idea on the issue of vaccine inequity. They said the problem was not with the pharmaceutical companies accumulating their patents, but with the distribution of vaccines in those countries.
“We agree with the Sussexes that action is needed now to ensure that Covid-19 vaccines are shared quickly and fairly around the world,” said Thomas Cueni, chief executive of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations. The telegraph.
“However, relinquishing intellectual property rights to Covid-19 vaccines will not increase production or provide the practical solutions needed to tackle this global health crisis.”
The news house also noted that Cueni’s view claimed that “trade barriers, supply chain bottlenecks, lack of raw materials and indecision on the part of rich countries to give excess doses are the issues facing vaccine equity. “
Dr Simon Clarke, associate professor of cell microbiology at the University of Reading in England further berated the couple’s opinion by stating; “With RNA vaccines, in particular, I don’t think there are a lot of places in the developing world that could make them on a large scale.”
Meghan Markle and Harry were also criticized on Twitter
The couple’s criticisms follow strong disapproval from Twitter users a few days ago.
They visited New York’s One World Trade Center alongside New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“I’m just baffled that they are using the potential impact of their first in-person appearance in months to do a photoshoot with one of the New York area’s less popular politicians,” one said. Twitter user.
“No charitable or professional connection, no real meaning beyond a quick ‘break’ at the 9/11 memorial.”
Another user said: “Hope there is something else they reveal later in the visit that makes sense? Otherwise, it’s just an appearance for fun.
Meghan Markle and Harry could leave reclusive life behind
Meghan and Harry’s withdrawal from the royal family coincided with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. This prompted the Sussexes to seek privacy while virtually attending their scheduled events.
However, things seem to have changed with the couple’s recent public appearance at the Global Citizen Live event, One World Trade Center and a school in Harlem, all located in New York City.
Royal author Omid Scobie has predicted that Meghan and Harry are entering an “era of visibility”.
“They are a couple who do very well in these moments of human interaction. They have to be on the ground, ”Scobie told People Magazine.
“They say the proof is in the pudding, and what we’re about to see is this pudding.”
