The CDWP gives the green light to two projects worth Rs54 billion

ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Group (CDWP) at a meeting on Monday authorized a development project worth Rs 2.66 billion and referred another Rs 51.29 billion project to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration.
The CDWP meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chairman of the Planning Commission, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. Senior officials from the Planning Commission and federal departments and divisions were also present, with provincial governments participating by video conference.
Projects related to transport and communications were discussed during the meeting.
The meeting authorized âFeasibility Studies and Detailed Engineering Design for KPCIP (Transport and Municipal Services) under Project Preparation Funding – PRF2â valued at Rs. 2.666 billion. The project is located in Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Kohat, Mardan and Peshawar regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It envisages engineering and procurement support, detailed design of planning feasibility and capacity building of urban municipal services, as well as project management, financial management, procurement and transport planning, etc.
âNew Gwadar International Airport (NGIA) 2nd Revisionâ worth Rs 51.298 billion has been referred to ECNEC for further review.
The second revised PC-1 of the project was submitted by the Aviation Division. The scope and cost of the Airport Security Forces camp and Civil Aviation Authority residential building to be funded and operated by the Pakistani side have increased.
