United Lithium Corp. (CSE: ULTH; OTC: ULTHF; FWB: 0UL) (“ULTH“or the”Society”), is pleased to provide an update on its lithium hydroxide testing program. Testing continues with lithium hydroxide results expected by the end of February.
The test work included test combinations with various process design and operating parameters, including temperature, pH, residence time, and different lithium concentrations in the feed solutions. These tests are underway using an experimental device that was built based on a modular design shown in Figure 1.

This test work program is led by Dr. Abdul Halim, CTO of Process Research Ortech Inc. His original thinking and entrepreneurial spirit has already brought success to United Lithium’s program with improvements in the production of mineral concentrate from lithium from petalite and spodumene. raw materials, high lithium recovery rates to produce high purity lithium carbonate, and improvements in chemical roasting by adding microwave energy. The innovations and tests implemented by Dr. Halim for the current program have provided the Company with several innovations and operational steps that can lead to reduced processing costs and increased efficiency in the production of lithium hydroxide.

United Lithium is currently in discussions with several technical experts regarding the production of value-added consumer/industrial products from the by-products of feldspar, quartz and mica that can be recovered in the mining of lithium pegmatites. This can enable zero- or low-waste mining operations and enable environmentally friendly processing alternatives for these value-added products.
The detailed bench-scale test work to develop a tailings/residue value-added by-product processing flowsheet was designed and supervised by Dr. Abdul Halim, of Process Research Ortech Inc. He has over 15 years of experience evaluating, developing and optimizing innovative and sustainable technologies for critical metals including lithium, cobalt, nickel, rare earths (REE), other base metals, PGM, gold and germanium from extracted natural resources and recycled manufactured materials through laboratory, pilot and demonstration plant operations. He is the author of over 50 scientific and technical papers, holds 5 US patents and has authored a number of book chapters in these areas. He worked at FLSmidth, Salt Lake City, USA, and SGS Lakefield, Canada before joining Process Research Ortech Inc. as VP Technology.
